Nigerian Victims of Oil Spill Receive Compensation
Six years ago, a massive oil spill damaged over 4,000 ha of mangroves and affected thousands of Nigerians who depend on the mangrove ecosystem for their livelihoods. Shell has now, six years on, agreed to compensation to be paid directly to the communities affected by the spill and commence clean up operations.
