Australian Mangrove and Saltmarsh Network (AMSN)

The Australian Mangrove and Saltmarsh Network is an informal independent network for people and organisations concerned about mangrove and saltmarsh tidal wetland habitats around Australia, and elsewhere.

The AMSN has annual meetings and all MangroveWatchers are invited!

 

Mangrove Action Project (MAP)

The Mangrove Action Project is dedicated to reversing the degradation and loss of mangrove forest wetlands and their associated coastal ecosystems worldwide.

Mangrove Action Project takes a truly grassroots, bottom-up approach to mangrove conservation and restoration issues. This approach involves and includes the voices of the global South, local communities, and their partner non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

 

International Society for Mangrove Ecosystems (ISME)

ISME is an international non-profit and non-governmental scientific society, established in August 1990. ISME took over various initiatives and followed the lead given by earlier UNDP/UNESCO Regional Mangrove projects. Among other items, the Statutes of ISME indicates that “the Society shall collect, evaluate and disseminate information on mangrove ecosystems” and “promote international cooperation.”

 

Mangrove Society of India (MSI)

Mangrove Society of India (MSI) is a non-profit and non-political organization that has been working for protection, conservation and sustainable use of mangroves.

 

Mangroves for the Future (MFF)

Since its conceptualization, MFF was founded on the vision, “Healthy coastal ecosystems for a more prosperous and secure future for coastal communities.” MFF is Co-chaired by IUCN and UNDP.

The vision was supported by a mission statement, “To promote healthy coastal ecosystems through a partnership-based, people focused and policy relevant approach that builds and applies knowledge, empowers communities and other stakeholders, enhances governance, secures livelihoods, and increases resilience to natural hazards and climate change.”
